WARREN, Pa. – The Warren League of Women Voters is sponsoring a program featuring the founding editor of SpotlightPA during Sunshine Week on March 14.
Christopher Baxter, CEO/President and founding editor of SpotlightPA news, will deliver a program titled “A Bold New Path for News” at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 14 in the Slater Room of the Warren Public Library. This Warren League of Women Voters-sponsored program is open to the public.
Sunshine Week, March 10-16, is the annual celebration of open government, records, and laws.
SpotlightPA news is a free, non-profit, non-partisan online news resource providing daily and weekly updates on happenings in the state Capitol and other areas of the state. Spotlight PA publishes four newsletters via its website and email.
Baxter will address what he describes as the big effort that his news organization puts forth to uphold government transparency and get the truth to the public. Those efforts complement the goals of Sunshine Week.
Baxter has extensive experience as an investigative reporter. His work has regularly prompted meaningful change in the form of new laws and regulations, criminal investigations, resignations, legislative hearings, and more. His work has garnered numerous state and national awards.
