RUSSELL, Pa. – R.O.A.R. (Revitalization of Russell and Akeley) announced the return of its Pine Grove Days event.
Pine Grove Days will be held on Saturday May 25, 2024, along North Main Street in downtown Russell. The day kicks off with the Run for R.O.A.R. 5k beginning at 9 a.m. at the Russell United Methodist Church, those wishing to register the day of may do so from 8-8:45 a.m. in the Church parking lot.
A vendor fair featuring crafts, food, lemonade, and many other treasures will begin at 11 a.m. The Russell Volunteer Fire Department will also be serving its Chicken BBQ. This year’s dinner will include ½ chicken, mac and cheese, applesauce, a roll and cookie, all for $15. Chickens will be served at Noon and 3 p.m. Those wishing to preorder their dinners can do so online. visit http://russellvfd.square.site/#items.
Also at 11 a.m. is a parade featuring local organizations. The parade will travel from Woodlawn Dr down N. Main St. to the Russell Volunteer Fire Department.
From 11am -3pm, there will be The Kids Zone in the parking lot of the Russell United Methodist Church will be open from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.. It will feature the Audubon Community Nature center, Wild Creatures, a bounce house, and more.
A classic car cruise-in will run from 3 – 6 p.m. at the corner of Pine and State Streets. Registration for the cruise-in will begin at 2 p.m.
The day will cap off with Dancin’ on Main Street featuring music from the Russell Roller Rink from 7-9 p.m. followed by an Ace Pyro fireworks display beginning at 9:15 p.m.
