Space is Available in Warren County Conservation District 2024 Summer Conservation Camps

WARREN, Pa. – The Warren County Conservation District has announced its 2024 summer camp schedule.

The theme this year for all summer camps is Into the Woods.

Children’s Nature Camp (CNC) is geared towards elementary school students from 1st—6th grades and is broken up into three age groups. CNC I (July 23-24) includes children entering 1st and 2nd grade, CNC II (July 11-12) is for children entering 3rd and 4th grade, and CNC III (July 8-9) is for 5th and 6th graders for the 24/25 school year. CNC will be held from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the pavilion of the Hatch Run Conservation Demonstration Area on Hatch Run Road. Children will learn and discover the uniqueness and importance of water, soil, plants, and animals in the local environment. Kids in the Children’s Nature Camp will also have a chance to play in the stream and fish in the pond; where some campers have caught their first fish.

Kindergarten Nature Camp (KNC) is for children going into Kindergarten this fall. This camp will also be based out of the pavilion of the Hatch Run Conservation Demonstration Area on Hatch Run Road. The camp will be held from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. on July 25. This will be a fun-filled camp learning about water, plants, animals, and soils (be prepared to get wet and dirty). There will be crafts, games, and exploring in nature. This camp will be limited to 10 kids.

The application deadline for all camps is June 19. CNC costs $40 per child, and KNC $20 per child (scholarships are available for those in need).
