Youngsville Baseball Drops High-Scoring Affair With Union City

YOUNGSVILLE, Pa. – Union City scored 10 runs in the third inning en route to an 18-14 slugfest of a win over Youngsville.

Both teams had 11 hits, with Youngsville committing six errors and Union City four. Union City also took advantage of 13 free passes issued by Youngsville pitching.

Daithin Kent led the Bears at the dish, going 2-for-3 with a double, three RBIs, and three runs, while Bryce Drayer was 2-for-5 with three runs and one RBI. Miles McCaslin was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and three runs and Aiden Shuman and Trevin Capela drove in two runs each.

Nathan Lucks and Matt DeSimone drove in two runs apiece for the Eagles, while Wyatt Dalrymple was 2-for-5 with an RBI and James Johnson 2-for-4 with three runs and an RBI.

Wyatt Post was credited with the win, allowing three runs (two earned) in 3 ⅓ innings, allowing four hits and two walks while striking out a pair.

DeSimone tossed five innings for Youngsville, allowing seven runs (two earned) on five hits, walking five, and striking out two.
