Youngsville Baseball Earns Season Sweep Over Eisenhower

April 26, 2024

RUSSELL, Pa. – Youngsville scored methodically early, then pulled away late for a 12-1 win at Eisenhower.

Rewatch the game:

The Eagles struck for three runs in the first, one each in the second and third, two in the fourth, and one in the sixth before going off for four in the seventh.

David Manning did the rest, allowing one earned run on three hits with three walks, and four strikeouts in five innings. Manning had one blip, issuing consecutive 2-out walks in the second, but a short mound visit from coach Eddie Dorunda settled Manning who set down the next four batters he faced.

“He just told me to keep doing what I do,” Manning said during the Cole Orthodontic Associates player interview. “Just stay focused, keep throwing, throw strikes, make sure the defense has my back, and just get out of the inning.”
