DeSimone Comes up Clutch as Eagles Edge Kane; Berdine Pitches Well in Warren Loss; Iroquois Tops Eisenhower

MT. JEWETT, Pa. – Matt DeSimone’s RBI single in the top of the seventh inning broke a 2-2 tie and lifted Youngsville to a 3-2 win over Kane.

Youngsville had taken a 2-0 lead on a James Johnson RBI single and a Wyatt Dalrymple sacrifice fly, but Kane tied the game in the bottom of the fourth with RBI singles from Kane Sharba and Kyle Zook.

Nate Lucks tossed 2 ⅓ hitless innings of relief, striking out four to get the win, while Johnson and DeSimone finished with two hits each for the Eagles.

Brock Wensel took the loss, allowing one run on two hits in ⅔ of an inning.

ERIE 2, WARREN 1

WARREN, Pa. – RJ Hawkins fired a 5-hitter to lead Erie to a 2-1 win over Warren.

Hawking struck out six and walked one.

Erie scored one run in each of the first two innings, with Josue Rosario and Hawkins driving in one run each.

Brady Berdine pitched well in defeat for Warren, allowing two runs (one earned) in 6 ⅓ innings on three hits, striking out 11 and walking two. Berdine was also 2-for-3 with an RBI.

IROQUOIS 17, EISENHOWER 7, 6 innings

ERIE, Pa. – Iroquois scored eight runs in the fourth inning of a 17-7, 6-inning win over EIsenhower.

Jayden Hadlock was 3-for-5 with five RBIs for Iroquois, while Ethan Alderson was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, Hunter Alderson was 4-for-4 with two RBIs and four runs and Reilly Brown was 2-for-4 with three runs and an RBI.

Hunter Aldreson got the win, going 4 ⅔ innings and allowing seven runs on seven hits, striking out three.

Shawn Pascuzzi drove in a pair of runs for Eisenhower, while Johnny Palmieri was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Caleb Degnan 1-for-4 with an RBI.
