Warren Tire Center Flood Watch Issued for Thursday

February 16, 2022

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The National Weather Service in State College has issued a flood watch for the northern mountains of Pennsylvania beginning at noon on Thursday.

The Watch runs until noon on Friday. Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt is possible during this time.

Rainfall between 1 and 1 1/2 inches is expected Thursday “in advance of, and along, a cold front.” Excessive runoff could cause rivers, creeks, and streams to rise out of their banks and flooding in low-lying and flood-prone locations is possible as well.

“Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop,” the NWS said.
