WARREN, Pa. – The Warren County Visitors Bureau put a new twist on a familiar event on Wednesday.
The WCVB held its annual Event Planner Party, but instead of holding it in a larger conference room somewhere in the county, event organizers and representatives gathered at the WCVB office in Starbrick.
“I want people to come here,” WCVB Executive Director Casey Ferry said. “There are people here who have never set foot in this building. And I wanted you to come in here and see this as this is a great space. If you’ve seen other visitors bureau, this is fantastic. We’re very proud of it.”
It’s all part of a new push, which includes next week’s Event Fair, to help people understand exactly what the WCVB is all about.
“We want people to see our faces, we want people to know who we are,” Ferry said. “We’re getting a little tired of people saying ‘What do you do?’ So we’re really making an effort to get out there and say, ‘This is what we do.'”
As part of the event, the WCVB gives away marketing funds, in the form of reimbursement, to each event in attendance. The funds come with two conditions. The money must be spent outside of Warren County, and the event must submit a receipt to the WCVB to receive the reimbursement.
The WCVB board selected 24 events to be eligible to receive the reimbursement this year. Those events include Bent Fest, Scandia Chainsaw Carve, Warren County Pride, Warren 4th of July Celebration, Allegheny Mountain Championship Rodeo, Music on the Mountain, Terry F. Ristau Memorial Industrial Softball Tournament, Sheffield Fireman’s Festival, Hickory Creek Rodeo, Wild Wind Folk Art & Craft Festival, Sugar Grove Cruise-In, Pine Grove Days, Warrenstock, Canine Choper Golf Tournament, Kinzua Country Tango, Warren County Fair, Kinzua Heritage Festival, Rally in the Valley, Lottsville Heritage Day, PA State Championship Fishing Tournament, Jake’s Rocks Trail Fest, Johnny Appleseed Festival, Music in the Park, and Warren County Winterfest.
