RUSSELL, Pa. – Eisenhower senior Leah Peterson has helped lead the Lady Knights to a ton of success on the soccer field over the last four years. Now she’s ready to take her talents to the next level.

On Monday, Peterson officially signed her National Letter of Intent to play collegiately at Division II Edinboro University.

“The community and the atmosphere that they have there is really good,” Peterson said. “We have a really connected team. Talking to the freshman coming in, we have a bond already.”

She played in high school for coach Diane Elmquist, and at Edinboro, she will be under the tutelage of head coach Gary Kagiavas and assistant Jamie Sallie.

The Fighting Scots most recently completed a 12-6-3 season in 2019.

“I’m excited to be able to continue doing the sport that I love,” Peterson said. “It’s awesome. I probably realized my freshman year that I saw I could go play after high school. It’s been hard, there have been a lot of hours put in.”

She plans on being a pre-med major.
