WARREN, Pa. – Warren Area High School senior basketball standout Halle Kuzminski recently made her college choice official, signing with Penn State Altoona.
Kuzminski was joined at her signing ceremony by her parents, Jay and Kristy, along with WAHS girls basketball coaches Lisa LaVan and Jenny Phillips. Halle said she plans to work on a business degree while playing basketball.
“I plan on majoring in business and eventually becoming a business professor,” Kuzminski said. “I was drawn to getting a Penn State degree and continuing to play basketball. Altoona has a beautiful campus and the city offers so many opportunities.”
Kuzminski, a multi-year starter for the Dragons, is a team captain this season and has been a key part of a Warren team that just clinched a share of the region title and has won 11 straight. In three-plus seasons, Kuzminski has scored more than 400 points and pulled down more than 400 rebounds. She’s also been part of two District 10 championships.
Though the Dragons still have their eyes on another D10 title run, Kuzminski is also excited for the future.
“I’m most excited to learn in a challenging environment and push myself both in school and on the basketball court,” Kuzminski said. “And I’m so excited to play with my new teammates.”
