Eagles Hold Off Union City

YOUNGSVILLE, Pa. – Youngsville built a 7-1 lead and held off a late Union City rally for a 7-6 win.

Union City scored four runs in the seventh inning before David Manning, who came on with two outs, got a groundout to end the game.

Nate Lucks pitched six strong innings for Youngsville, allowing two runs on four hits, striking out 13, and walking two.

Youngsville scored three runs in both the second and third innings. Matt DeSimone was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, while Ethan Senz was 1-for-2 with two RBIs and Keegan Mesel was 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run.

Aiden Shuman drove in a pair of runs for Union City, while Bryce Drayer was 1-for-3 with an RBI, and Trevin Capela drew three walks, a hit, and an RBI.

Luke Racop took the loss, allowing six runs (three earned) in 2 ⅓ innings on six hits and three walks, striking out one.
