STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The National Weather Service in State College has issued a Wind Advisory for Warren and McKean Counties beginning at 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023.
The advisory runs until 8 a.m. Friday. South winds of 20 – 30 mph are expected, with gusts up to 50 mph. Winds are expected to shift from southwest to west through the night.
“Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects,” the NWS said. “Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.”
The strongest winds are expected between 6 p.m. Thursday and 4 a.m. Friday, with the highest gusts occurring along the ridge tops.
“Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle (and) secure outdoor objects,” the advisory said.
