April 2, 2024

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The National Weather Service in State College has issued a flood watch for Warren, McKean, and Elk Counties beginning on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.

The Watch runs until 8 a.m. on Thursday, April 4. Flooding caused by excessive rain is possible during this time.

“Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks,” the NWS said. “Excessive runoff could cause rivers, creeks, and streams to rise out of their banks and flooding in low-lying and flood-prone locations is possible as well.”

Rainfall between 2 and 3 inches is expected through Wednesday, with locally higher amounts of up to 4 inches possible.

“Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop,” the NWS said.
