April 11, 2023

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The National Weather Service in State College has issued a Fire Weather Watch for Warren and McKean Counties beginning at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2023.

The Watch runs until 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Weather-related fire conditions include winds of 10 – 20 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph, low relative humidity (as low as 25% in some areas), and temperatures in the low 70s.

“A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur due to a combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and dry fuels,” the NWS said. “A Red Flag Warning may be issued. Prescribed burns may get out of control.”
