ALBANY, NY – SUNY Jamestown Community College students Maysa Bayramova, Chloe Hirt, and Elin Scalise were chosen for the Phi Theta Kappa 2024 All-State Academic Team at the State University of New York’s Chancellor’s Awards event held this month in Albany.

Scalise will graduate this spring with an associate’s degree in Addictions Counseling, along with Certified Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor credentialing. The Sheffield native plans on pursuing a career in which she can support individuals who suffer with drug and substance abuse addiction.

“I want to be a part of the change and help bring awareness to reduce the stigma,” Scalise said.

Bayramova will graduate from the Jamestown Campus this spring with an associate’s degree in Business Administration. An international student from Turkmenistan, Bayramova intends to transfer to Florida International University to study finance and ultimately become a business owner.

Hirt will graduate from the Cattaraugus County Campus this spring with an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education. The Olean native plans to transfer to SUNY Geneseo and pursue a career in elementary education.

Phi Theta Kappa is a national honor society for two-year colleges. Students must achieve at least a 3.5 grade-point average to be inducted. The academic team is chosen based on a student’s academic achievements during their time in college.
