WARREN, Pa. – Alexia Bowers and Kylie Fehlman each had double-digit kills to help Warren to a 3-0 (25-12, 25-15, 25-7) win over visiting General McLane.
The win ran the Dragons’ overall record to 6-1, while Warren moved to 3-0 in Region 5 play.
“Varsity did a nice job again staying on the attack, the hitters all were very efficient with only 7 attack errors on the night,” Warren coach Mike Dolan said. “It started with the defense again as the blocking was very good and the back row did not let many balls hit the floor.”
Bowers had 13 kills and an ace, while Fehlman had 12 kills and three blocks. Maddy Jones had eight kills, two blocks, and an ace, and Madelyn Nosel had seven kills and two aces.
Summer Lucks had 18 digs, three assists, and five aces, and Lindsay Madigan ran the offense with 35 set assists.
The Dragons hit the road Wednesday for a non-region contest against defending PIAA Class 1A champion Maplewood.
“We will need to keep playing tough defense going forward and keep improving the offense every day,” Dolan said. “Tough test tomorrow at Maplewood in a non-region game which will be a good test for us as we approach the midpoint of the schedule.”
