For the second season in a row, Eisenhower’s Kris Bunk earned all-state honors in football.
Bunk was named a 2023 Pennsylvania Football News Coaches Select First Teamer at tight end after a stellar senior season for the Knights.
This season, Bunk totaled 24 receptions for 452 yards and 10 touchdowns, an average of 18.8 yards per catch. This all came despite missing several games due to injury.
After an undefeated regular season that saw the Knights go to the D10 title game in 2022, they came back in 2023 and went 8-4, reaching the D10 semifinals, a stretch that included a 5-game winning streak.
Steel-High’s Alex Erby was voted Player of the Year and his coach, Andrew Erby, Coach of the Year.
Over 200 coaches from across Pennsylvania voted for the teams. The full Class 1A teams are listed below.
There was a first team and second team, with Bunk one of just two tight ends honored and the only first team selection.
