Warren Boys Roll to Brookville Tip-Off Tournament Crown

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Tournament MVP Parks Ordiway poured in 25 points and led Warren to a 75-45 win over Union to win the Brookville Tip-Off title.

Fellow all-tourney picks Tommy Nyquist and Brady Berdine scored 12 and 10 points respectively while Braylon Barnes turned in a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

The Dragons trailed 11-6 at the 3:53 mark of the first quarter before taking the lead for good with an 18-0 run that gave them a 24-11 lead with 6:35 left in the second quarter. Warren led 46-26 by halftime and 59-38 after three quarters before putting on the Mercy Rule running clock in the closing seconds.

Dawson Camper, Union’s all-tourney player, finished with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Zander Laughlin and Payton Johnston scored 11 and 10 points apiece.

GOWANDA (NY) 67, EISENHOWER 61

DUKE CENTER, Pa. – Gowanda (NY) built a 41-25 halftime lead and held off a late Eisenhower rally for a 67-61 win in the consolation game of the Randy Stebbins Memorial Tournament consolation game.

John Ondus led Gowanda with 23 points, while Quentin Centner had 18.

Kyler Black and Kris Bunk scored 19 and 18 points respectively for Eisenhower, with Black scoring 10 in the fourth quarter and Bunk eight.

GIRLS

PUNXSUTAWNEY 63, WARREN 45

WARREN, Pa. – Chloe Presloid scored a game-high 27 points to help Punxsutawney beat Warren, 63-45, in the championship game of the Warren Tip-off Tournament.

The Lady Chucks overcame a slow start that saw them trail 18-13 at the end of the first quarter by scoring 19 second-quarter points on their way to a 32-26 halftime lead.

The advantage grew to 45-37 going to the fourth quarter and then Presloid scored nine of her 27 in the fourth quarter to help Punxsutawney pull away.

Presloid added six rebounds and five steals, while Avary Powell chipped in 16 points and five rebounds.

Danielle Griebel also had 11 points and nine assists in the win.

Peyton Wotorson led Warren with nine points with Halle Kuzminski chipping in eight points.

FOREST AREA 40, YOUNGSVILLE 35

MARIENVILLE, Pa. – Tournament MVP Amber Guzzi had 19 points, seven rebounds, and seven steals to lead Forest Area to a 40-35 win over Youngsville in the championship game of the Forest Area Tip-off Tournament at East Forest.

Kaylie Rooke added 12 points, 14 rebounds, three steals, and two blocks for the Fires.

Madison Vanguilder and Milea Jenkins each had nine points for Youngsville.
