UPDATE: NWS Increases Watch to Winter Storm Warning

January 15, 2022

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The National Weather Service in State College has increased the Winter Storm Watch issued for Warren County to a Winter Storm Warning, beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday.

The advisory runs until 6 p.m. Monday as Winter Storm Izzy makes its way across the region. Heavy wet snow with accumulations of 10 – 14 inches is expected. Snowfall rates of one to two inches per hour are expected Sunday night.

The hazardous conditions could make travel difficult to impossible and will potentially impact both the morning and evening commutes Monday.

“The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission strongly encourage motorists to heed all travel restrictions and delay unnecessary travel as significant weather conditions will make travel very hazardous,” the advisory said.
