February 26, 2024

RUSSELL, Pa. – Gary Weber was approved as the new Warren County School District Superintendent during a special school board meeting Monday night.

The board voted unanimously to approve Weber as the successor to Amy Stewart who has been superintendent for the last eight years. Stewart announced her resignation, effective March 1, 2024, in August. Weber’s 5-year term will begin effective March 2.

“It was rewarding to witness the collaborative efforts of the new board throughout the interview process,” Stewart said. “Selecting a Superintendent is a crucial board responsibility, setting the tone for their joint efforts to provide the best educational opportunities for all Warren County School District students. I extend my best wishes, knowing the District is in excellent hands under Mr. Weber’s leadership.”

The board will present a formal employment agreement for adoption at a future meeting.

“The Board of Directors is enthusiastic about Mr. Weber’s appointment expressing confidence in his broad spectrum of experiences and expertise within the district will facilitate a seamless transition,” the board said in a release. “Anticipating Mr. Weber’s unique leadership style and creativity the Board believes he will propel the district to new heights.”
