The Votes are In: Finch, Hogg Winning State Silver Runaway Choice for Top Moment in 2020-21

The votes are in and the fans have spoken. Ethan Finch and Jake Hogg winning state silver medals was the runaway choice in the fan poll for Top Moment in Warren County Sports for 2020-21.

The duo’s run to silver medals, Sheffield’s Finch in wrestling and Youngsville’s Hogg in track and field (in two events) garnered more than 63 percent of the vote (63.54) with 4,221 total votes.

Sheffield freshman Emily Foster winning the District 9 high jump title was second with 1,285 votes (19.34 percent). Emma Ruhlman knocking down three free throws to clinch the District 10 championship for Warren girls’ basketball was third with 667 votes (10.04 percent).

Eisenhower football’s 2 OT playoff win over West Middlesex was fourth and Sheffield volleyball’s playoff win against Clarion-Limestone was fifth.

Finch and Hogg moved up a spot from the YourDailyLocal staff choices for Top 10 Moments, from second to first. Fosters’ D9 title went from 10th in our poll to second in the fans’ eyes, while the Lady Dragons’ D10 basketball title, Eisenhower’s playoff win, and Sheffield’s playoff win all held the same spot in both polls.

Our top moment, Katie Beyer winning the state title in the 200 freestyle, finished sixth in the fan poll.
