Sheffield Swept in Season-Opening Tri-Meet

SHEFFIELD, Pa. – Sheffield had a district qualifier in its season opener, but the Wolverines were swept in a tri-meet with Coudersport and Port Allegany.

The girls fell to Coudersport, 108-28, and lost to Port Allegany, 70-60. The boys lost to the Falcons, 74-62, and the Gators, 74-67.

“Emily Foster was back to her winning ways after a season-ending injury last year and was the Wolverines lone district qualifier of the night as the overall winner of the high jump clearing 5-1,” Sheffield coach Jason Snell said.

Sarah Hoffman was also an overall winner, taking first in the 100 hurdles (19.43).

Sheffield’s boys’ 4×800 relay team of Marc Lewis, Alex Eaton, Chase Kyler, and Dylan Hardwick was first overall (9:36). Alex Marfink took first in the 110 hurdles (19.49).

The Wolverines head to Waterford on Saturday for the Fort LeBoeuf Invitational.
