Wolverines Split With Cameron County

SHEFFIELD, Pa. – Sheffield earned a split against visiting Cameron County on Monday.

The boys defeated Cameron County, 128-13, and the Lady Wolverines lost to the Lady Red Raiders, 42-89.

Sarah Hoffman set a PR in the 100 hurdles (17.27) and narrowly missed qualifying for districts in the 300 hurdles (52.80). Emily Foster won the high jump with a leap of 4’ 11″.

The Wolverine Boys were victorious in all three relays. The winning 3200 team of Marc Lewis, Alex Eaton, Andrew Kyler, and Chase Kyler with a time of 11:32, the winning 1600 team of Ben Lindberg, Austin Fiscus, Lewis, and Christopher Joblon with a time of 4:44. The 400 team (Alex Marfink, Dylan Hardwick, Isaac Hammerbeck, and Colby Barr) was on pace to what looked as though was going to be their fastest time of the year and district qualifying, but a dropped baton slowed them down. They still prevailed winning the race with a time of 51.42.

Other winning athletes for the Wolverines were Marfink 110 Hurdles (19.71), Barr in the 100 (11.78) and 400 (58.11), Will Zdarko 200 (26.08), Chase Fetzeck in the 300 Hurdles (48.05), and Hardwick in the 800 (2:20).

Hardwick and Hayden Holden tied for the win in the high jump both clearing 5’ 6” for the tie, Aamon Bowman was a double winner in the long (17’ 4”) and triple jumps (34’ 10”), Fiscus won the shot put (33’ 11.5”), Emre Morgan took first in the discus (92’ 11.5”), and Wyatt Newark won the javelin (123’ 6”).

The Wolverines head to Johnsonburg Friday in a Tri-meet with The Rams and Dubois Central Catholic.
