Sheffield has Trio of Champions at North Tier League Meet

SMETHPORT, Pa. – Sheffield had a trio of champions at the North Tier League Invitational on Friday.

Lucas McNeal took home first in the high jump for the boys, as did Emily Leichtenberger in the javelin and Emily Foster in the high jump for the girls. 

McNeal cleared 5-6 in the high jump, besting Gavin Jimmerson of Johnsonburg and Brandt Kightlinger of Coudersport by two inches. 

Foster went 4-9 in the high jump, two inches higher than fellow freshman Hallie Rigas of Coudersport. 

Leichtenberger dominated the javelin with a throw of 115-6, beating second-place by almost 13 feet. 

Next up for the Wolverines are the District 9 track and field championships from Brookville High School.
