WARREN, Pa. – Horner Family Practice knocked off Ground Zero Stump Grinding, 6-5, on a walk-off 2-run hit from the bat of Brayden (Smalls) Frank in the Warren County Youth Baseball/Softball Association Boys’ Minors Tournament on Saturday.
Mason Rowles started the rally in the bottom of the fifth with a base hit to right, followed by an RBI double off the bat of Joey Fanelli.
For Horner, Alexander Lund had a great game on the mound, striking out 14, while also belting a double. Frank and Fanelli had the other doubles.
For Ground Zero, Wesley Wilcox had 13 strikeouts in his five-plus innings of work.
In the semifinals on Saturday, Horner knocked off A&B Heating, 11-1, thanks to a no-hitter from Liam Hanson, who struck out three. Hanson also ripped two doubles, as did Wyatt Neall.
On Friday, Horner Family Practice beat Gretchen E. Porier, 17-6. Frank and Hanson had doubles and Neall and Hanson triples.
