RUSSELL, Pa. – Eisenhower senior Bella Marino returned from a 4-game absence to help lead Eisenhower to a 64-26 Region 3 win over Girard.

Marino, one of five seniors honored during pregame senior night festivities, had a game-high 14 points for the Knights.

Senior recognition:

“It felt pretty good to win this one,” Marino said. “It was a little difficult (coming back from injury), and I struggled at times. But I think I played good, I think we all played good.”

The Knights led 20-4 at the end of the first quarter and extended the lead to 37-16 at halftime. Eisenhower’s defense limited Girard to single digits in three of the four quarters.

Lainey Font had 12 points in the win, Clara Steinberg had 11, and Mackenzie Dunn added nine.

Peyton Kalicky led the Jackets with 11 points, while Lily Polk had eight.

The win was Eisenhower’s 10th of the season, which equals the total wins from the previous three years combined. With four games remaining, the Knights need two more wins to assure their first winning season in 10 years.
