UPDATE: Report: One Dead in Columbus Township Fire; Morning Fire Closes Road in Columbus Township

COLUMBUS TWP, Pa. – A Friday morning fire in Columbus Township has forced Scotts Crossing Road to be closed, according to a release from PennDOT.

UPDATE, 9:35 a.m.:  The Erie Times News is reporting one person has died as a result of a Friday morning fire in Columbus Township.

“The Corry Fire Department . . . arrived at the residence to find heavy fire and located one victim,” according to the report.

“Scotts Crossing Road (Route 4001) is closed from the intersection with Route 6 to the intersection with Drobneck Road”, the release said.

Scotts Crossing Road is near the Erie County border in Columbus Township.

Firefighters were called to a structure fire on Scotts Crossing Road just before 6 a.m. Friday morning.
