ERIE, Pa. – David Manning was dominant in firing a 1-hit shutout in Youngsville’s 4-0 win over Iroquois.
Manning allowed a leadoff double to Reilly Brown and not another hit the rest of the game. He struck out five, walked two, and needed just 72 pitches to get through his masterpiece.
The Eagles plated single runs in the first and third innings and two in the fourth. James Johnson was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, while Matt DeSimone was 2-for-4 with a run, Manning and Ian Mancuso had two hits each and Nathan Lucks had a pair of RBIs.
Brown took the loss, allowing four runs on nine hits, striking out two.
