Gentz, Lady Eagles Walk-Off to Beat Oswayo Valley

YOUNGSVILLE, Pa. – Alyssa Gentz delivered a walk-off RBI single to send Youngsville to its first win of the season, 8-7 over Oswayo Valley.

Oswayo Valley trailed 6-1 and rallied to tie the game with five runs in the sixth, courtesy of RBIs from Layken Enty, Jadyn Fleischman, Sophia Komenda, Lauren Hedges, and Catelyn Dailey.

Madison Carnahan gave Youngsville the lead back, 7-6 on an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth, and Oswayo Valley once again tied the game in the top of the seventh on Fleischman’s RBI single.

Vanessa Romanosky singled to lead off the seventh and with one out, Kamden Swearingen walked, setting the stage for Gentz.

Kamden Swearingen was 3-for-4 with two RBIs for Youngsville, while Molly Helman was 3-for-4 with two RBIs, Romanosky scored a pair of runs and Rachael Lucks was 3-for-4 with a run.

Swearingen got the win, allowing seven runs (six earned) on 14 hits and striking out nine without issuing a walk in her seven innings.

For OV, Fleischman was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, Trinity Lundy was 2-for-4 with a run, Brooke George was 3-for-4 with a run and Enty was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs.

Shayden Messler took the loss, going 6 ⅓ innings and allowing eight runs (five earned) on 12 hits, striking out five and walking four.
