Kane Avenges Tournament Loss with Win at Sheffield

January 3, 2024

SHEFFIELD, Pa. – A 12-0 second-quarter run put the game out of reach as Kane got a little payback with a 61-43 win at Sheffield.

Rewatch the game:

Kane (6-4 overall, 1-3 AML) surrendered a halftime lead in a loss to Sheffield (4-7, 0-1) in the Sheffield Sports Boosters Holiday Tournament championship game last week. The Wolves made sure history wouldn’t repeat itself Wednesday night.

Leading by five, 16-11, to start the second quarter, the Wolves opened with an 8-0 run. The Wolverines responded with six straight to close the gap to seven, 24-17. Kane slammed the door on another comeback with the 12-0 run.

“It feels great,” Kane’s Dane Anderson said during his Cole Orthodontic Associates player interview. “Losing last week, then coming back and getting it done. It feels great.”

Anderson had a game-high 20 points to earn Allegheny Grille of Foxburg Player of the Game Honors. Sam Lundeen added 14 points in the win.

Dylan Hardwick led the Wolverines with 15 points, while Allan Eaton had 11 points.
