April 22, 2023

DUKE CENTER, Pa. – Bri Heller tossed a one-hitter while striking out nine to lead Otto-Eldred to a 9-1 win over visiting Eisenhower.

Heller walked two and hit a batter in seven innings while also helping out at the plate by going 1-for-3 with two RBIs.

Kate Rhinehart went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs while Carrie Drummond had an RBI double and Kayla Andreano had a double.

Kailee Morrison broke up Heller’s no-hit bid with an RBI single in the seventh. Payton Frank scored on the play for Eisenhower’s lone run.

Emilie Jones took the loss for Eisenhower going six innings allowing nine runs, six earned, on eight hits and five walks while striking out seven.

Editor’s note: An earlier version of this story reported the final score as 9-0 and that Heller had thrown a no-hitter. Further conversation with both teams showed that Morrison was credited with a hit and an RBI. This story has been updated to reflect those changes.
