Eisenhower Softball Collects 19 Hits in Victory Over County Rival Youngsville

RUSSELL, Pa. – Eisenhower scored six runs in the sixth inning to pull away for an 11-1, 6-inning win over Youngsville.

Emilie Jones had a run-scoring double and triple, finishing 4-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs. She also fired four scoreless innings of relief, allowing seven hits, striking out four, and walking three.

Julia Gesing also finished with four hits atop the Eisenhower lineup, going 4-for-5 with a double, three runs, and an RBI as Eisenhower collected 19 hits.

Samantha Childs went the first three innings in the circle for Eisenhower, allowing one run while striking out three. She also went 2-for-4 at the plate with three RBIs and two runs. Kailee Morrison was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs, while Cali Chapman and Lily Smyth both had an RBI, with Smyth collecting two hits.

Hailey Gray had an RBI single in the second inning for Youngsville, bringing in Ireland Abraham, who was hit by a pitch to start the frame. Madison Carnahan had a double for the Lady Eagles.

Kam Swearingen took the loss, allowing 11 runs (6 earned) in 5 ⅔ innings, striking out six without issuing a walk.
