YOUNGSVILLE, Pa. – Make it 6-0 for Youngsville, as the Eagles broke Friday’s game with Rocky Grove open with four runs in the fourth inning in what was a 9-2 victory.
James Johnson went four innings to get the win, allowing two runs (one earned), allowing just two hits while striking out seven and walking six. Matt DeSimone came on and pitched three scoreless innings of relief, striking out seven, allowing just one hit, and striking out four.
DeSimone also got it done at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBIs, and two runs. The top three hitters in the Youngsville lineup – Johnson, DeSimone, and Nate Lucks had two hits each, with Johnson scoring twice and Lucks driving in a pair.
Also for the Eagles, Wyatt Dalrymple was 2-for-3 with a double and a run, while Aidan Mancuso and Ethan Senz each had a hit and drove in a run, and David Manning was 2-for-3 with a run.
Eli Wilson was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Rocky Grove.
Hayden Beiver suffered the loss, allowing eight runs in four innings on nine hits, walking one, and striking out none.
