WARREN, Pa. – A free workshop sponsored by Kinzua Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center entitled Dementia 101 will be held on Thursday, April 7 at 6 p.m. at the Jefferson DeFrees Family Center, 207 Second Ave., Warren.
Presenter Maria Munksgard, from Kinzua Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, will help attendees understand what is happening in the brain affected by Alzheimer’s, other dementias, and age-related changes. Further discussion will be about the risk factors and details of the three general stages of the disease and approved treatments available for some symptoms. Helpful handouts from the Alzheimer’s Association will be available.
The session is open to the public and will last approximately one hour. There is no fee for the class, but please register by calling Linda at 814-726-1199 to ensure adequate seating, pamphlets, and materials. Light refreshments will be served.
