ERIE, Pa. – Jose Quinones and Erie edged Brady Berdine and Warren 2-0 in a classic pitchers duel on Thursday.
Quinones fired a two-hit shutout, striking out 11 and walking just two. He needed just 81 pitches to complete his masterpiece.
Berdine also allowed just two hits and two unearned runs. He struck out six and walked two.
The Royals scored single runs in the first, scoring on an error in the first and an RBI single off the bat of Kevin Fuentes.
Owen Blum singled and recorded two walks for Warren.
