With Roundabout Construction set to Begin, City of Warren Urges Motorists to use Caution

March 30, 2023

WARREN, Pa. – With construction set to begin on the roundabout at the intersection of Market St. and Pennsylvania Ave. next week (April 3), the City of Warren is urging motorists to be careful and use caution.

“Please be patient, be aware of changing detour signs, and allow extra time to travel through or around the construction zone,” Mayor Wortman said in a letter sent to YourDailyLocal.

The roundabout will be done in four phases, the first of which is set to begin on Monday (April 3) and can be seen below.

While different areas will be closed during each phase, the phases will allow for the most steady flow of traffic, PennDOT said.

“During the preparation and construction process, it is imperative that motorists and pedestrians observe signage and barricades that are in place for the public’s safety and for the protection of construction workers,” Wortman said.

Bob Cummins Construction, LLC will oversee the construction.

Wortman also encouraged the public to take some extra time when traveling to an area impacted by the construction.

“I strongly encourage everyone to take an extra minute or two to navigate the detours and continue to support the fine businesses located within Warren’s downtown commercial district,” Wortman said.

Updated information on the project can be found here.

The City of Warren will also post updates on its Facebook page.
