The Surge, playing in the UC Ice Challenge, rolled to yet another tournament championship with a 6-0 win over Frost 18U in the title game on Sunday.
Weissinger, a rising senior at Youngsville High School, had a huge semifinal game, including the walk-off winner to bring in Warren rising junior Ellee Irwin. Weissinger earned semifinal MVP honors with her performance.
It’s been quite the summer for the Surge, whose plethora of talented players saw their high school seasons lost because of COVID-19.
