WCYBSA: Cornerstone Blanks Midtown Motors in Boys’ Juniors; North Star Lodge Edges Huey’s Place in Boys’ Majors

WARREN, Pa. – Isaac Neal and Wesley Wilcox combined for 18 strikeouts as Cornerstone blanked Midtown Motors, 6-0, in boys’ juniors action.

Neal had 11 punchouts, while Wilcox struck out seven. Cornerstone batters drew a dozen walks in the game.

Eddie Abplanalp had a pair of hits, including a double, for Midtown.

BOYS’ MAJORS

NORTH STAR LODGE NO. 241 F.&A.M. 10, HUEY’S PLACE 9

James Clifford Alexander and Lauson Hoisington powered a comeback as North Star Lodge defeated Huey’s Place, 10-9.

Huey’s held a 9-8 lead going into the bottom of the sixth. Alexander drew a walk and Hoisington singled Alexander home to tie it at 9-9. Hoisington then stole his way around the basepaths for the game-winner.

Hoisington was 4-4 with two singles and two doubles. Mason Hastings had a bases loaded triple to help the cause.

Reid Fitzgerald had two singles and Clay Cummings had a double for Huey’s.
