RUSSELL, Pa. – The Warren County School District will be hosting a multi-agency active intruder drill at Youngsville Elementary School on Saturday, Aug. 6.

The district announced that the drill would be taking place in a release on Tuesday.

“The Warren County School District, partnering with law enforcement and emergency response agencies from across the county, will be holding an active intruder drill at Youngsville Elementary School on Saturday, August 6th,” the release said.

Emergency management will be on-site during that time performing services related to the drill and mimicking real-life situations.

“The district is announcing the drill so people in the area are not taken by surprise by the presence of emergency vehicles at the school on that day,” the release said. “The day will consist of a rescue task force training session in the morning, followed by the actual multi-agency drill in the afternoon. Simunition may be used during the drill to emulate live fire, so please don’t be alarmed if you hear loud noises during the drill itself.”

The district asks that the public steer clear of the area during the drill.

“It is recommended that the public avoid the area surrounding the school for that day,” the release said.
