Wayne ‘Butch’ Walton Sr.

July 2, 2021

Wayne (Butch) A. Walton Sr., 78, of Pittsfield, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at UPMC Hamot Medical Center in Erie.

Wayne was born Sept/ 21, 1942. in Warren to the late Leroy and Margaret Beane Walton. He worked as a truck driver most of his life but was a jack of all trades. He was the neighborhood “junkman.”

He loved Jesus, and his wife. John Wayne and Clint Eastwood were what he felt were examples of real men. He liked classic cars and trucks, watched western movies, and read every western book he and many people would find for him. He liked oldies music, country gospel, and polka music.

He helped anyone out anytime he could and share his knowledge of fixing things with anyone that ask for assistance. He cut wood with his father-in-law, Samuel Bowers, and enjoyed homemade bread and cinnamon rolls that his mother-in-law, Harriet would bake.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Stella Bowers Walton, whom he married Oct. 5, 1968 in Youngsville; a sister, Lavina Lundberg of Warren; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Wayne A. Walton Jr.; a brother, Rick Walton; and his furry companion, Abbey, last September.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 2, at the Evangelical United Methodist Church, 18 2nd St. in Youngsville, from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m., at which time a funeral service will be held there with the Rev. Jeff Canter, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at the Davey Hill Cemetery in Pittsfield.
