Warren to Meet Frewsburg for High School Bowl Championship

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – Frewsburg Central School and Warren Area High School earned their place in the Media One High School Bowl championship match with victories at SUNY Jamestown Community College.

Warren bested Chautauqua Lake Central School 60-43 in the winner’s bracket championship while Frewsburg defeated Chautauqua Lake 43-38 in the loser’s bracket final.

Kaden Kelly-Pojar and Ashley Plank earned Player of the Match honors for Warren (5-0). Xander Pitts of Frewsburg (7-1) and Devin Putney of Chautauqua Lake were also named Players of the Match.

Frewsburg stayed alive in the tournament with a 65-57 win that eliminated Jamestown High School. Frewsburg’s Jacob Sears and Jamestown’s Camden Austin were recognized as Players of the Match.

Kelly-Pojar, Plank, Devin Stover, and Lydia Balas competed for Warren.

Pitts, Sears, Veronica Nowak, Erich Thompson, and Kelson Laska represented Frewsburg.

The Chautauqua Lake team included Putney, Ian Riedesel, Sydney Hawkins, and Jonah Reyda.

Jamestown’s team was made up of Austin, Olivia Beach, Taydem Lang, and McKenna Schneider.

High School Bowl, now in its 60th year, is produced by Media One Group in cooperation with JCC.

Sponsors include Jamestown Community College and the JCC Alumni Association, WJTN, The Weinberg Financial Group, The Chautauqua County Humane Society, Pepsi, and The Chautauqua Region Community Foundation.

High School Bowl airs at 11 a.m. Saturdays on WJTN (1240 AM & 101.3 FM) and at 7 a.m. Sundays on SE-93 (93.3 FM).
