WARREN, Pa. – On a rainy Tuesday, the Warren Dragon track and field teams opened their seasons against Titusville at War Memorial Field, with the girls winning 88-53 and the boys falling 98-47.
Lindsay Madigan and Lilly Newton helped lead the way for the girls. Madigan won the javelin, triple jump and 100-meter dash, while Newton took first in the 200, 400 and high jump.
Also for the Warren girls, Morgan Alexander won the 1600 and 3200. Adi Cullers also won the 100 hurdles, Zoe Rodgers the discus and Kylie Fehlman the shot put.
For the boys, Sam Lindell won the 800 and 1600 and Matt Sowa the 3200.
“For a rainy first meet I thought we had a lot of great performances.,” said Warren coach Kevin Dustin. “Obviously not looking for kids to be at their best right now, but there were many pleasant surprises. For many of the kids it was their first meet ever and they were impressive. We definitely have a lot of talented athletes, and it will be great to see how far they can go the rest of the season. ”
