Warren’s Sam Lindell.

“We had an awesome showing from our teams today,” said Warren coach Kevin Dustin. “The girls were second overall and qualified for the state meet as a team. This is a huge accomplishment that they worked really hard for. They started the season ranked sixth and worked their way to the number two team today. We are extremely proud of this girls group!”

Hannah Peterson led the girls with a seventh place finish (19:59), followed by Morgan Alexander at 18th (20:24), Cassiy Britton at 24th (20:47), Emma Peterson 35th (21:26), Leona Hovan 41st (21:42), Jahzara Hunter 65th (22:49) and Riley Evan 81st (23:43).

“The boys team also ran incredibly well,” Dustin said. “Sam qualified for states as an individual. The rest of the boys ran huge PR’s for themselves and the boys team finished sixth overall when they were ranked 12th at the start of the year. To see these teams battle and work from where they began to where they ended is amazing to watch. What a great group of kids and we are excited to extend the season one more week at states!”
