Warren County Conservation District Hosting Summer Camps

June 9, 2022

WARREN, Pa. – The theme this year for the Warren County Conservation District’s summer camps is Time Explorers.

Take an adventure back in time and experience the wonders of the past.  Have fun and make new friends while we explore nature through time.

Children’s Nature Camp (CNC) is geared towards elementary school students from 1st— 6th grades and is broken up into three age groups.  CNC I (July 26-27) includes children entering 1st and 2nd grade, CNC II (July 14 – 15) is for children entering 3rd and 4th grade, and CNC III (July 11 – 12) is 5th and 6th graders for the 22/23 school year. CNC will be held from 8 am – 3 pm at the pavilion of the Hatch Run Conservation Demonstration Area on Hatch Run Road.  Children will learn and discover the uniqueness and importance of water, soil, plants, and animals in our local environment.  Kids in the Children’s Nature Camp will also have a chance to play in the stream and fish in the pond; where some campers have caught their first fish.

The Kindergarten Nature Camp (KNC) is for children going into Kindergarten this fall. This camp will also be based out of the pavilion of the Hatch Run Conservation Demonstration Area on Hatch Run Road.  The camp will be held from 9 am – 2 pm on July 28th.  This will be a fun-filled camp learning about water, plants, animals, and soils (be prepared to get wet and dirty). There will be crafts, games, and exploring in nature. This camp will be limited to 10 kids so act fast!

The application deadline for all CNC’s and KNC is June 22nd. The cost for each camp is CNC – $40 per child, and KNC – $20 per child (scholarships are available for all camps).  Go to www.wcconservation.org for more information and also to download application forms.  You can also call 814-726-1441 or e-mail Sherry at [email protected].
