The Warren County Conservation District recently held its first art contest for children in grades K-12.

The theme this year was Healthy Forests Healthy Communities. There were 79 entries that were judged on April 6, 2021. A People’s Choice contest was also held for the artwork from March 23 to April 2.
Prizes and ribbons were provided by the Warren County Visitor Bureau: 1st place $25, 2nd place $20 and 3rd place $15 in each age group. Ribbons were also given to the People’s Choice winners in each age group.
Winners were:
K-2- 1st place Cara Johnson; 2nd place Alaina Ongley; 3rd place Zachary Ayers
3-5- 1st place Hope Martin; 2nd place Chase Perrin; 3rd place Aiden Jones
6-8 – 1st place Gus Heenan; 2nd place David Manning; 3rd place Ashleigh Johnson
9-12 – 1st place Katelin Slocum; 2nd place Elizabeth Phelps; 3rd place Kassedy Kibbey
People’s Choice winners were:
K-2: Zachary Ayers; 3-5: Hope Martin; 6-8: Lauren Zahner; 9-12: Alicia Sabella
Additionally, the Warren County Conservation District is now holding its second annual Photo Contest. The photo categories are Tractors, Birds, Flowers, and People in Nature. Photos will be accepted until September 17, 2021. For more information go to our website at www.wcconservation.net.
