Warren County Commissioners Approve Agreement to Conduct Review of 911 Center

October 31, 2023

WARREN, Pa. – The Warren County Commissioners have approved an agreement to conduct a review of the county’s 911 center.

Specifically, the review with the firm Mission Critical Partners, will have them evaluate the existing facilities and design a plan to revamp the current center or to move it to a new location.

“We have the need for a new and improved facility for the 911 center,” said Commissioner Ben Kafferlin during the commissioners meeting on Oct. 25. “We’re at the stage now where we need to bring in external consultants, specifically to evaluate the facilities and come up with a plan on reconstruction of the existing 911 center or moving it somewhere else.”

Commissioner Jeff Eggleston said that the next board of commissioners will be in charge of implementing the recommendations of the firm (Eggleston and Kafferlin did not seek re-election).

“I hope that the next board is able to carry out the plan we put together, because the 911 center is a huge need for the county and there really needs to be a resolution for them to carry out,” Eggleston said.

The review will give the county guidance on what it would take to fix the existing location or give next steps in detail that would be necessary to move the location.

“Anything we can do to get them (the next board of commissioners) moving as quickly as possible is paramount,” Kafferlin said.
