Warren Bids Fond Farewell to PA Wilds Workers

August 31, 2023

WARREN, Pa. – Farewell, friends.

That was the message delivered to the PA Wilds remote workers at their going away party at Bent Runt Brewing Company on Thursday

“Hopefully all the other communities had as positive of an experience as we did,” said Warren County Chamber of Business and Industry President and CEO Jim Decker.

The Wilds are Working program offers workers the chance to spend an expenses-paid two to four weeks living and working in rural communities with the hope that they will like it enough to stick around.

Anna Hall, Ben Lisowski, Derrick Dahl and Ben Goshow were the four workers brought to Warren.

“I also want to thank Savannah (Casey) for her undying commitment to this program,” Decker said. “She made this work for Warren as far as I’m concerned.”

The Wilds workers, in addition to working remotely and living in Warren for the past month, got to experience some of the best Warren has to offer, including canoeing on the Allegheny River with an assist from Allegheny Outfitters and visiting local landmarks.

“I want to thank the various organizations for embracing the opportunity to bring folks in from out of the area and welcome them as one of our own,” Decker said. “Warren is your eternal friend.”
