Touring Warren County: The 91st Annual Warren County Fair

August 9, 2022

PITTSFIELD, Pa. – Despite a somewhat turbulent winter, the Warren County Fair returns for its 91st edition Aug. 8 – 13.

The 2022 Warren County Fair will include the rides, games, exhibits, and concessions fans and attendees have come to expect. Though for a couple of months, it appeared the Fair would have a different look.

On March 23, the Fair board announced that this year’s fair would not feature the midway rides and amusements from years past. The board learned in late December that the carnival company it has used in the past merged with another company and would not be able to make this year’s dates.

However, board members worked to find an alternative and secured a deal with Penn Valley Shows, LLC out of Middleburg to provide rides, games, and concessions this year.

“We had some issues with our carnival,” Warren County Fair Board President Dale Bliss said during the annual media luncheon on Monday. “Pre-COVID, there were about 600 (carnival) companies. That’s down to about 200 post-COVID. And there are slim pickings in January, February, and March.”

Penn Valley agreed to provide the carnival rides and games this year despite already working with the Huntingdon County Fair (Aug. 7 – 13).

“Penn Valley Shows went out of their way moving rides out here,” Bliss said.

Of course, the Warren County Fair is much more than just carnival rides.

Monday night’s main attractions were the “Chute Out Rodeo” and crowning of the 2022 Warren County Fair Queen and Jr. Miss.
