Titusville Sweeps Youngsville

October 18, 2021

YOUNGSVILLE, Pa. – After trading runs through the first two sets, Titusville rolled to a win in the third on its way to a 3-0 win at Youngsville.

The Eagles battled back from 5-2 and 12-6 deficits to take an 18-14 lead in the first before the Rockets finished with a 7-2 run to win the set.

“We do a very good job of digging ourselves out of holes, but then we just can’t hold on,” Youngsville coach Hannah Bulard said.

Youngsville looked poised to pick up the win in set 2, with set point at 24-22, but again Titusville came all the way back to win it in extras, 27-25.

That comeback built momentum as the Rockets raced out to a 13-2 lead in the third and the Eagles never got closer than eight points the rest of the way.

Kenzie Olewine had 19 digs and five aces to lead the Eagles, while Mia Rafalski had six kills, five digs and two blocks. Olivia Darling had two kills and two blocks and Allyson Johnson had seven digs. Dilyn Moore ran the offense with seven assists and added seven digs.

Sarah Cole and Ava Hartshorne led the Rockets’ attack with 11 and 10 kills, respectively. Kaelyn MacDonald served four aces and ran the offense with 21 assists. Maddie Reed had three aces and Briana Wynn had two aces.

Titusville won the junior varsity match 25-9 and 25-12.

The Eagles head to Tidioute Charter on Tuesday before finishing out the regular season at Erie First Christian on Thursday.
