Tingley, Union City Shut Down Eisenhower in Doubleheader Sweep

UNION CITY, Pa. – Abby Tingley pitched 10 shutout innings and hit a pair of home runs in a doubleheader sweep over visiting Eisenhower Tuesday.

Tingley hit a solo homer in the first game, and a 3-run shot in the second. Lucy Higley hit three total home runs. She had a pair of homers in Game 1, and another in Game 2.

UNION CITY 18, EISENHOWER 0, 5 INNINGS
Abby Tingley homered and tossed a 2-hitter, while Lucy Higley and G Chapman combined to drive in 11 runs as Union City beat visiting Eisenhower, 18-0 in five innings.

Both of Higley’s hits were 2-run home runs and she finished with six RBIs for the game. Chapman had three hits, including two doubles, and five RBIs.

Tingley’s solo homer was the second half of a back-to-back with Higley. Tingley finished with three hits. Cathryn Reynolds also had three hits, including a triple, and drove in three.

Tingley didn’t issue a walk and struck out 11 in five innings.

UNION CITY 12, EISENHOWER 0, 5 INNINGS
Tingley homered and threw a 1-hit shutout, and Higley homered as part of a 3-hit effort in Union City’s 12-0, 5-inning win over Eisenhower.

Tingley hit a 3-run home run and finished with a pair of hits and four RBIs for the game. Higley had three hits, including a double, and two RBIs, while Reynolds had two hits and two RBIs.

Tingley didn’t issue a walk and struck out 12 in the win.
